21/22 Adventure Assurance

Terms and Conditions for the 21/22 Adventure Assurance program for Ikon Pass and Local Pass products.

21/22 - IKON PASS ADVENTURE ASSURANCE PROGRAM (Terms & Conditions)

Adventure Assurance provides options that offer 21/22 Ikon Pass holders peace of mind to ski and ride throughout winter 21/22.

Should a 21/22 Ikon Pass holder not use their Ikon Pass product from purchase date through December 9, 2021, for any reason, they may elect to receive a full credit for the purchase price of their unused 21/22 Ikon Pass to be used toward the purchase of a 22/23 Ikon Pass product, subject to applicable terms and conditions. Deferrals must be declared by the pass holder in My Account by December 9, 2021.

In addition, Ikon Pass, Ikon Base Pass, and Ikon Base Plus Pass holders can select All Destinations or One Eligible Destination by October 14, 2021 that will provide them a credit toward the purchase of a 22/23 Ikon Pass product, in the event minimum thresholds are met for eligible North American destination closures due to COVID-19 between December 18, 2021 - March 6, 2022, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

UNUSED 21/22 IKON PASS PRODUCTS MAY BE DEFERRED FOR PASS HOLDER CREDIT TOWARDS A WINTER 22/23 IKON PASS PRODUCT PURCHASE

  • Ikon Pass products received as a benefit associated with other non-Ikon Pass products that are not purchased by the pass holder directly from Ikon Pass, Inc. and/or complimentary passes are excluded from Adventure Assurance. Adventure Assurance may not apply to Ikon Pass products purchased from an authorized third party seller or from a tour operator as part of a bundled package or trip, and pass holders should discuss with their authorized third party seller or tour operator how Adventure Assurance applies to the Ikon Pass product that is part of their purchase.
  • 21/22 Ikon Pass holders - Ikon Pass, Ikon Base Pass, Ikon Base Plus Pass, Ikon Session Pass 4-Day - can elect to defer use of their 21/22 Ikon Pass product for credit toward a 22/23 Ikon Pass product, if their 21/22 Ikon Pass has not been scanned or used at any Ikon Pass destination from pass purchase date through December 9, 2021. The pass holder must elect to defer their unused pass in My Account by December 9, 2021. Any use/scan from pass purchase date onward will be considered “used” and will exclude the pass holder from eligibility to defer their pass to the 22/23 season with Adventure Assurance. This includes any use for spring skiing, summer use, Friends & Family voucher usage and using any other benefits associated with your 21/22 Ikon Pass.
  • Deferral of an unused 21/22 Ikon Pass product is only available for pass products that are unused at the time of the deferral election. An Ikon Pass product is “unused” if the pass has not been used for any activity including spring skiing, summer use, Friends & Family voucher and any other benefits associated with the pass have not been scanned or used at any Ikon Pass destination from pass purchase date through December 9. 2021.
  • Pass deferral elections must be made by eligible 21/22 Ikon Pass holders by December 9 2021. If you do not defer your unused 21/22 Ikon Pass product on or prior to December 9, 2021, then you are not eligible for an unused pass credit.
  • A deferral may be made by either the purchaser of the pass or the adult pass holder of a 21/22 Ikon Pass product. In each case, the associated credit will only be issued to the actual pass holder (who may not be the pass purchaser) of the deferred 21/22 Ikon Pass product.
  • All deferrals of 21/22 Ikon Pass products are final. Once an Ikon Pass is deferred, it is unusable for the 21/22 season.
  • A pass holder who has deferred their 21/22 Ikon Pass product may use their credit to repurchase a 21/22 Ikon Pass product as long as the 21/22 Ikon Pass products are still offered for sale, however the pass holder will be responsible for paying any price difference that may be incurred based on current prices at the time of purchase.
  • Credit amounts will be based on the 21/22 Ikon Pass holder’s actual purchase price for the 21/22 Ikon Pass product, less pass insurance, if applicable.
  • Credit amount will be issued in the currency by which the 21/22 Ikon Pass product was purchased from Ikon Pass, Inc. and shall not exceed the actual purchase price paid for the 21/22 Ikon Pass product.
  • Credit for any 21/22 Ikon Pass product will be applied to the account profile of the actual pass holder whose name is associated with the applicable 21/22 Ikon Pass product, and will be available for use towards that pass holder’s purchase of any one 22/23 Ikon Pass product. Credit is non-transferable.
  • Credit cannot be redeemed for cash value and no refunds or additional credit will be issued if the purchase price of the 22/23 Ikon Pass product purchased is less than the amount of the 21/22 credit.
  • If there is a price difference between the amount of the credit issued for the 21/22 Ikon Pass product and the Ikon Pass product purchased for the 22/23 winter season for whatever reason, including price increases, pass holder age or eligibility for certain discounts, the purchaser will be required to pay the price difference. Ikon Pass, Inc. will not issue partial refunds or credits if the cost of the 22/23 Ikon Pass product is less than the credit amount, and any remaining credit amount will be automatically forfeited upon the pass holder’s redemption of the 21/22 Ikon Pass credit for their one 22/23 Ikon Pass product.
  • Credit cannot be applied toward an individual destination mountain pass, frequency or ticket product. Credit may only be used for the purchase of a 22/23 Ikon Pass product, and any unused credit amount will expire at such time as 22/23 winter season Ikon Pass products are no longer available for purchase.
  • There is no fee associated with Adventure Assurance. Other than as expressly stated here, all terms and conditions applicable to Ikon Pass product purchases remain in full force and effect and Ikon Pass products continue to be non-refundable.

IN THE EVENT ELIGIBLE NORTH AMERICAN IKON PASS DESTINATIONS MEET MINIMUM CLOSURE THRESHOLDS BETWEEN DECEMBER 18, 2021 - MARCH 6 - 2022 DUE TO COVID-19, 21/22 ELIGIBLE IKON PASS HOLDERS WILL BE ISSUED A PROPORTIONAL CREDIT AMOUNT TOWARD THE PURCHASE OF A 22/23 IKON PASS PRODUCT

If eligible North American Ikon Pass destinations meet minimum closure thresholds due to COVID-19 between December 18, 2021 - March 6, 2022, Ikon Pass will automatically issue a proportional credit to 21/22 Ikon Pass, Ikon Base Pass, and Ikon Base Plus Pass holders, based on their destination selection, even if they’ve used their pass, subject to the following terms and conditions:

  • Ikon Session Pass is not eligible for any credit due to COVID-19 closures. All Ikon Pass products received as a benefit associated with other non-Ikon Pass products that are not purchased by the pass holder directly from Ikon Pass, Inc. and/or complimentary passes are excluded from Adventure Assurance.
  • All 21/22 Ikon Pass, Ikon Base Pass, and Ikon Base Plus Pass holders are automatically enrolled to be eligible for a COVID-19 closure credit unless the Ikon Pass holder elects to defer his/her unused 21/22 Ikon Pass until the 22/23 winter season.
  • 21/22 Ikon Pass holders can select One Eligible Destination or All Destinations as their Adventure Assurance destination.
  • One Eligible Destination selections include Steamboat, Winter Park, Copper Mountain Resort, Eldora Mountain Resort, Palisades Tahoe, Mammoth Mountain, June Mountain, Big Bear Mountain Resort, Stratton, Sugarbush Resort, Snowshoe, Crystal Mountain, Solitude Mountain Resort, Tremblant, and Blue Mountain, provided no closure announcement has been made prior to October 14, 2021. In the event an Ikon Pass holder has already selected a destination that makes any closure announcement prior to October 14, 2021, that destination will no longer be an eligible destination and the pass holder will be required to select a new eligible destination or All Destinations. Failure to select a new eligible destination by October 14, 2021 will automatically default to All Destinations.
  • All Destinations includes all North American Ikon Pass destinations as of October 14, 2021, except CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures.
  • All 21/22 Ikon Pass holder accounts will automatically be set to All Destinations as their selection for eligibility to receive COVID-19 credits. A pass holder wanting to designate One Eligible Destination must choose their destination online by October 14, 2021 in My Account.
  • One Eligible Destination selection is final and cannot be changed, provided however that if a 21/22 Ikon Pass holder’s previously selected One Eligible Destination issues a closure announcement for any reason whatsoever prior to October 14, 2021, the pass holder will be required to select a new eligible destination or All Destinations. Failure to select a new eligible destination by October 14, 2021 will automatically default to All Destinations.
  • If a 21/22 Ikon Pass holder selects One Eligible Destination as their Adventure Assurance destination and that Ikon Pass destination closes due to COVID-19 for at least 7 consecutive full days or 21 or more total full days between December 18, 2021 - March 6, 2022, the pass holder will receive a proportional credit of the actual purchase price paid for their used 21/22 pass to be used toward the purchase of a 22/23 Ikon Pass product. Once this initial threshold is met, the actual credit a pass holder will receive for their used 21/22 Ikon Pass will be based on the percentage of days your selected One Eligible Destination is closed due to COVID-19 during that 79 day period (between December 18, 2021 - March 6, 2022).
  • If a 21/22 Ikon Pass holder selects All Destinations as their Adventure Assurance destination and if any North American Ikon Pass destination remains closed due to COVID-19 for at least one full day between December 18, 2021 - March 6, 2022, the 21/22 Ikon Pass holder will receive a proportional credit of the actual purchase price paid for their used pass toward the purchase of a 22/23 Ikon Pass product. The actual credit a pass holder will receive for their used 21/22 Ikon Pass will be calculated based on the percentage of days any North American Ikon Pass destinations are closed due to COVID-19 during that 79 day period (between December 18, 2021 - March 6, 2022).
  • A qualifying closure of an eligible Ikon Pass destination due to COVID-19 requires the destination to have no uphill access by gondola or chairlift for the entire duration of the destination's normal daily operating hours, which is considered a full day. If an eligible Ikon Pass destination has 1 chairlift or gondola operational for all or part of a day, the destination is considered open. If an eligible destination includes more than one mountain as part of the destination (e.g. Palisades Tahoe) then any uphill access by gondola or chairlift on any part of the destination shall be considered open. If an eligible Ikon Pass destination is closed due to any other reason, including but not limited to high winds, lack of snow, or avalanche, the destination closure does not qualify for COVID-19 closure credit. The decision to close an Ikon Pass destination due to COVID-19 is at the sole discretion of the destination’s management team. For Ikon Pass destinations that offer night-skiing, the closure of night-skiing due to COVID-19 does not qualify as a destination closure for credit.
  • Credit amounts will be based on the 21/22 Ikon Pass holder’s actual purchase price paid for the 21/22 Ikon Pass product, less pass insurance, if applicable.
  • Credit amount will be issued in the currency by which the 21/22 Ikon Pass product was purchased and shall not exceed the actual purchase price paid for the 21/22 Ikon Pass product.
  • Credit cannot be redeemed for cash value and no refunds or additional credits will be issued if the purchase price of the 22/23 Ikon Pass product purchased is less than the amount of the 21/22 credit.
Credit may only be used for the purchase of a 22/23 Ikon Pass product, and any unused credit amount will expire at such time as 22/23 Ikon Pass products are no longer available for sale.
  • There is no fee associated with Adventure Assurance. Other than as expressly stated here, all terms and conditions applicable to Ikon Pass product purchases remain in full force and effect and Ikon Pass products continue to be non-refundable.

Deferrals must be declared by the pass holder in My Account by December 9, 2021.

ELIGIBLE UNUSED 21/22 LOCAL RESORT PASS PRODUCTS MAY BE DEFERRED FOR PASS HOLDER CREDIT TOWARD A WINTER 22/23 LOCAL RESORT PASS PRODUCT PURCHASE

Pass holders of eligible unused 21/22 local resort pass products can elect to defer use of their 21/22 local resort pass for credit to be applied toward their purchase of the same or, to the extent the same pass product is not offered for sale in the 22/23 winter season, an equivalent local resort pass product offered for sale by the resort in the 22/23 winter season. The pass holder must elect to defer their unused pass in My Account by December 9, 2021. If you do not defer your eligible unused 21/22 local resort pass product by December 9, 2021, then you are not eligible for an unused pass credit.

Deferral of an eligible 21/22 local resort pass product is only available for pass products that are unused at the time of the deferral. A local resort pass product is “unused” if the pass or any additional resort access, perks, vouchers, or other pass benefits associated with the pass, have not been scanned or used to access a resort location or pass benefit from the pass purchase date onward.

Eligible 21/22 local pass products that are add-on pass products (for example, Snowshoe’s Primo Add-On and Stratton’s First Tracks Add-On pass products) may only be deferred if accompanied by a valid deferral request with respect to the principal pass product associated with the add-on pass, and both the principal pass and the add-on product must be unused at the time of the deferral. Deferral of an eligible 21/22 principal pass product associated with an eligible 21/22 add-on pass product will result in the automatic deferral of the add-on pass product to the 22/23 winter season.

A deferral request may be made by either the pass purchaser or the adult pass holder of any eligible unused 21/22 local resort pass product. In each case, the associated credit will only be issued to the actual pass holder (who may not be the pass purchaser) of the deferred 21/22 pass product.

All deferrals of eligible 21/22 local resort pass products are final. Once a pass product is deferred, it is unusable for the 21/22 season.

A pass holder who has deferred their eligible 21/22 local resort pass product may use their credit to repurchase a 21/22 pass product as long as the 21/22 local resort pass products are still offered for sale, however the pass holder will be responsible for paying any price difference that may be incurred based on current prices at the time of purchase.

Credit amounts will be based on the eligible 21/22 local resort pass holder’s actual purchase price for the 21/22 pass product, less pass insurance, if applicable.

Credit for each deferred 21/22 local resort pass product will be applied to the account profile of the actual pass holder whose name is associated with the applicable deferred 21/22 local resort pass product, and will be available for use towards that passholder’s purchase of the same or equivalent 22/23 local resort pass product. Credit is non-transferable.

Credit amount cannot be redeemed for cash value and no refunds or additional credits will be issued if the 22/23 local resort pass product purchased is less than the amount of the 21/22 pass product credit.

If there is a price difference between the credit amount issued for the 21/22 local resort pass product and the resort pass product purchased for the 22/23 winter season for whatever reason, including price increases, pass holder age, eligibility for certain discounts, or pass product substitution the purchaser will be required to pay the price difference. No partial refunds or credits will be issued if the cost of the 22/23 local resort pass product is less than the credit amount, and any remaining credit amount will be automatically forfeited upon the pass holder’s redemption of the 21/22 local resort credit for their one 22/23 local resort pass product.

There is no fee associated with Adventure Assurance. Other than as expressly stated here, all terms and conditions applicable to the eligible local resort pass product purchases remain in full force and effect and local resort pass products paid in full continue to be non-refundable.

Adventure Assurance may not apply to local resort pass products purchased from an authorized third party seller or from a tour operator as part of a bundled package or trip, and pass holders should discuss with their authorized third party seller or tour operator how Adventure Assurance applies to the local resort pass product that is part of their purchase.

IN THE EVENT THE LOCAL RESORT DESTINATION ASSOCIATED WITH A PASS HOLDER’S ELIGIBLE 21/22 LOCAL RESORT PASS PRODUCT MEETS MINIMUM CLOSURE THRESHOLDS BETWEEN DECEMBER 18, 2021 AND MARCH 6, 2022 DUE TO COVID-19, THE PASS HOLDER WILL BE ISSUED A PROPORTIONAL CREDIT AMOUNT TOWARD THE PURCHASE OF A 22/23 LOCAL RESORT PASS PRODUCT

If the local resort destination associated with eligible local resort pass products meets minimum closure thresholds due to COVID-19 between December 18, 2021 and March 6, 2022, the local resort destination will automatically issue a credit to eligible 21/22 local resort pass holders, even if they’ve used their pass, subject to the following terms and conditions:

All eligible 21/22 local resort pass holders are automatically enrolled to be eligible for a credit unless the pass holder elects to defer his/her unused 21/22 local resort pass until the 22/23 winter season.

Regardless of which destination an eligible add-on product is associated with, pass holders of eligible 21/22 add-on pass products that are linked to an Ikon Pass as the principal pass will receive the proportional credit for the add-on product based on the selection associated with their Ikon Pass and the percentage of days the Ikon Pass selected destination(s) closed due to COVID-19 during that 79 day period.

If the local resort destination accessible with an eligible 21/22 local resort pass product closes due to COVID-19 for at least 7 consecutive full days or 21 or more total full days between December 18, 2021 and March 6, 2022, the pass holder will receive a proportional credit of the actual purchase price paid for their eligible used 21/22 pass to be used toward the purchase of the same or, to the extent the same pass product is not offered for sale in the 22/23 winter season, an equivalent local resort pass product offered for sale for the 22/23 winter season. Once this initial threshold is met, the actual credit a pass holder will receive for their eligible used 21/22 local resort pass product will be based on the percentage of days the local resort destination is closed due to COVID-19 during that 79 day period (between December 18, 2021 and March 6, 2022).

A qualifying closure of an eligible local resort destination due to COVID-19 requires the destination to have no uphill access by gondola or chairlift for the entire duration of the destination's normal daily operating hours, which is considered a full day. If an eligible local resort destination has 1 chairlift or gondola operational for all or part of a day, the destination is considered open. If an eligible local resort destination is closed due to any other reason, including but not limited to high winds, lack of snow, or avalanche, the destination closure does not qualify for COVID-19 closure credit. The decision to close an eligible local resort destination due to COVID-19 is at the sole discretion of the destination’s management team. For eligible local resort destinations that offer night-skiing, the closure of night-skiing due to COVID-19 does not qualify as a destination closure for credit.

Credit amounts will be based on the 21/22 pass holder’s actual purchase price paid for the eligible 21/22 local resort pass product, less pass insurance, if applicable.

Credit for any eligible 21/22 local resort product will be applied to the account profile of the actual pass holder whose name is associated with the applicable 21/22 local resort pass product, and will be available for use towards that pass holder’s purchase of the same or, to the extent the same pass product is not offered for sale in the 22/23 winter season, an equivalent local resort pass product offered for sale for the 22/23 winter season. Credit is non-transferable.

Credit cannot be redeemed for cash value and no refunds or additional credits will be issued if the purchase price of the 22/23 pass products purchased is less than the amount of the 21/22 credit.

If there is a price difference between the credit amount issued for the eligible 21/22 local resort pass product and the resort pass product purchased for the 22/23 winter season for whatever reason, including price increases, pass holder age, eligibility for certain discounts, or pass product substitution, the purchaser will be required to pay the price difference. No partial refunds or credits will be issued if the cost of the 22/23 local resort pass product is less than the credit amount, and any remaining credit amount will be automatically forfeited upon the pass holder’s redemption of the 21/22 closure credit for their one 22/23 local resort pass product.

The credit amount may only be used for the purchase of the 22/23 local resort pass product the same or, to the extent the same pass product is not offered for sale in the 22/23 winter season, an equivalent local resort pass product offered for sale for the 22/23 winter season, and any unused credits will expire at such time as 22/23 winter season local resort pass products are no longer available for sale.

There is no fee associated with Adventure Assurance. Other than as expressly stated here, all terms and conditions applicable to the eligible local resort pass product purchases remain in full force and effect and local resort pass products paid in full continue to be non-refundable.

Local resort frequency products are not eligible for any credit due to COVID-19 closures.
