Community Guidelines and Expectations

As part of this global mountain community, we invite you to review our community guidelines and expectations. These shared principles keep everyone safe, accountable, and regarded with respect. All guests and employees are expected to observe the following guidelines and share the mountains.

SAFETY Practice safe skiing and riding habits by following YOUR Responsibility Code.

  • Always stay in control. You must be able to stop or avoid people or objects.
  • People ahead or downhill of you have the right-of-way. You must avoid them.
  • Stop only where you are visible from above and do not restrict traffic.
  • Look uphill and avoid others before starting downhill or entering a trail.
  • You must prevent runaway equipment.
  • Read and obey all signs, warnings, and hazard markings.
  • Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
  • You must know how and be able to load, ride and unload lifts safely. If you need assistance, ask the lift attendant.
  • Do not use lifts or terrain when impaired by alcohol or drugs.
  • If you are involved in a collision or incident, share your contact information with each other and a ski area employee.

ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Take personal responsibility for your actions and safety.
  • Be aware of your physical limitations, ski and ride terrain appropriate for your ability level.
  • Arrive prepared for varied mountain conditions.

RESORT-SPECIFIC GUEST CONDUCT STANDARDS AND SAFETY RULES

  • Each Ikon Pass resort has its own set of guest conduct standards and safety rules. These rules are designed to address the specific issues faced at the resort, and every resort is unique.
  • It is your responsibility to know, understand and comply with the standards and rules of a resort when you are on the resort’s premises or using the resort’s property.
  • Guests must present a valid ticket or pass when requested by resort staff.
  • Always check a resort’s Mountain Safety and Guest Conduct pages on its website before skiing, riding or visiting the resort. Regardless of the name, it is your responsibility to know, understand and comply with the rules of a resort before skiing, riding or visiting the resort.
