TRAVEL DAY

Just 25 minutes from the Friedman Memorial Airport, hop one of the many free shuttles or buses and make your way to the mountain, the village, or the surrounding towns of Ketchum and Hailey. Once you've found your accommodations, it's time to settle into this Idaho icon steeped in sunshine, a future forward scene, and historic local legend. Initially made famous by Hollywood's elite, this premier year-round destination draws visitors from around the world.

MORNING

If it's snowing and you're looking for fresh, deep adventure, head directly to Sunrise. Bald Mountain's newest zone is home to burly backcountry-style turns, yet it's all in-bounds. This terrain features 380-acres of steep and deep terrain for expert skiers and riders. Explore The Glades, wide-open bowls, and steep chutes, then jump on the Broadway high-speed quad for a quick ride up to the Roundhouse restaurant.

AFTERNOON

For the best views around and the best selfie spot to be found, take it to The Roundhouse, where the patio overlooks the entire valley below. Perched atop the Roundhouse Express gondola at 7,700 feet of elevation on Bald Mountain, this après institution has served memorable meals, soul-warming drinks, and stunning views since 1939. Tuck into the truffle fries, Duck Banh Mi, Idaho Lamb Burger, or the famous fondue before heading to Little Scorpion to explore 54 acres of newly-gladed tree riding.

EVENING

Built on almost a century of attracting the world's most intriguing individuals, Sun Valley boasts a nightlife scene that caters to seasoned late-night haunts and guests in pursuit of chic fireside cocktails or an elevated glass of wine. For a taste of the scene's rich history and a classic bar menu, the Sun Valley Inn Lobby Lounge is a must-visit. As you venture further south, the local vibe rises to the occasion with an open invitation to join the renowned Ketchum Crawl. Connect the dots between Grumpy's, the Cellar Pub, and Whiskey Jacques for affordable bar eats, generously portioned pours, and live music that inspires a different kind of boot-scooting.

TRAVEL DAY

Fly into Bozeman, Montana, where the local community weaves a rich tapestry of rustic western charm, artist inspiration, and a forward-thinking coffee, cocktail, and food scene that will impress even the most cultured traveler. Then, less than an hour south, Big Sky Mountain Resort resembles a meeting place of heritage, geography, and divine lines – as well as a well-planned future. As such, it's the next North American ski scene that should be on your ever-growing roster of bucket list Ikon Pass destinations.

MORNING

After a warmup run or two, take the early hours up a notch and head for the top, all the way to Lone Peak's 11,166-foot summit. Upon stepping off the brand-new 2023-finished Tram, it's easy to look out with oversized amazement upon views of three entire states and two massive National Parks. With a stunning selfie secured, drop into the 300 degrees of available skiing, including some of the wildest chutes and couloirs around. This unique adventure is certainly worth the extra Tram fee.

AFTERNOON

Time spent winding your way down from Big Sky's solitary summit often makes for heavy legs and an awaiting appetite. When the hunger hits, head for Montana Jack. Offering over 100 beers with up to 24 on tap, this cerveza oasis specializes in craft burgers that pair perfectly with your choice of suds. Located in the Mountain Mall at Big Sky's Mountain Village – directly at the base of Ramcharger & Swift Current – Montana Jack is as close as you can get to the slopes without hopping on a chairlift. Featuring big-screen TVs and sweeping mountain views, it's one of the most accessible places to enjoy the Big Sky food scene.

EVENING

Once recharged, it's time for several hours of free-flowing hot laps before heading up Ramcharger to Everett's 8800, where the après scene is an elevated experience, both literally and figuratively. Pair alpine-inspired dishes with an expansive wine list, European beers, or an updated take on cocktail classics. Plan ahead to make a reservation for sunset and treat yourself to a spectacular visual scene. Knowing that Big Sky requires several days to explore, be sure to bring a trail map to plan out all of the sweet stuff you'll hit tomorrow.

TRAVEL DAY

Point your tips toward Wyoming and kick off this next adventure by flying into the Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) – the only commercial airport in the United States located within a National Park. Upon arrival, it's an easy 36-minute drive to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. With an established base of operations in the valley, the public bus system (START) provides efficient and affordable travel to and from the town of Jackson and Teton Village. Of course, rental car agencies are plentiful, and taxi services are only a call away.

MORNING

Jackson Hole's terrain comes in all flavors, with enough spice to keep even the most robust pass holders engaged and on their edges. To kick the day off, climb Bridger Gondola and take warmup turns on Amphitheater before linking up with Thunder Quad Chair. From the top of Thunder, tackle the technically challenging Towner Three Chute or ease your way down Jerry's Way. Since the Aerial Tram can get busy in the morning, the goal here is to score some solid laps while letting the lines subside. Around mid-morning, head out from the base of Thunder and Traverse to the famous Dick's Ditch before hitting the U.P. Connection to land at the tram terminal.

When boarding the Tram, hang back a bit to score a south-facing window. From this viewpoint, you'll be able to grab a glimpse of Corbett's Couloir, Jackson Hole's most infamous run. Once the tram docks, head for Corbett's Cabin and dig into the fan-favorite peanut butter bacon waffle. With sustenance in hand, set your sights on the staggering 360-degree summit views that showcase the Tetons, Jackson Hole Valley, and surrounding mountain ranges.

AFTERNOON

Pro-Tip: Ride that waffle windfall and explore more of the mountain until the lunch rush subsides. Tuck into Rendezvous Bowl for wide-open and often wind-buffed turns. Then, pick your line and cut into Cheyenne Bowl via Wally World or Central Chute. Each option merges back into Rendezvous, which closes out at the Sublette Quad. Nab laps here before heading out to the Cirque via Tensleep Traverse. Noodle on over to the Marmot Double Chair and catch a ride to Rendezvous Lodge for a late lunch at one of 3 options: the quick and easy cafeteria, the Euro-café, or the reservation-only Piste Mountain Bistro. Depending on a combination of leg strength and drink strength, stick around for après or head back out to claim some last turns before the sun sets.

EVENING

As night descends, swap those ski boots for cowboy boots and head for the Snake River Grill in the town square. Set in a cozy yet refined log cabin setting, this western steakhouse serves up the best onion rings around and plentiful locally sourced wild game that includes elk and bison. Recharged and ready to keep the party going, grab a drink at the world-famous Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, where you can saddle up for live music and legendary Western flair. With your dancing boots laced up, the night is just getting started. Stick around for the late-night Million Dollar scene or see what's swinging at the equally renowned Silver Dollar Bar.
